Details

Felt's AR5 boasts a fantastically aerodynamic, UCI-legal frame that's sure to save you valuable time on every ride and race. Its front- and rear-wheel cutouts, internal cable routing, aero carbon seatpost and the seamlessly integrated bladed carbon fork are all designed to put you well ahead of your buddies. This aero ace is outfitted with race-ready specs like Felt's wind-cheating wheels, an FSA Gossamer Pro compact crank, Shimano's 105 group for precision shifting, and a fine helping of Felt's carbon and aluminum components. Take fast to the next level with the AR5!

Felt's AR is perfect for long-distance breakaways!Felt may have built the world's fastest, most aerodynamic road bike ever in the AR. After countless hours of computer and wind-tunnel time, it debuted at the 2008 Tour de France and immediately made its mark with a second-place in Stage 3 under Will Frischkorn after an impressive daylong breakaway. Frischkorn's secret was the AR's amazingly slippery and fast profile with wheel cutouts, internal cable routing, aero seatpost and seamlessly integrated bladed carbon fork. Equally important, depending on wind conditions and terrain, it could save you 58 to 75 seconds per hour over a standard, round-tube bike, and plenty of energy, too, which could make the difference between a podium spot and finishing mid-pack. Swing a leg over the AR and see what it can do for you!

A line drawing of a Felt Carbon Frame

Felt's Modular Monocoque Construction method begins by molding the front triangle, seatstays and chainstays as individual pieces, allowing each component to be manufactured specifically for its individual requirements. The pieces are then fused together with completely integrated joints that offer superior strength, durability and a refined look. Also, different shapes, tube thicknesses and diameters are used throughout to maximize stiffness where needed, minimize overall weight and damp vibrations for an awesome ride.

    Comments:

This bike looks pretty hard-core, but ride one and you'll see it's a great all-around bike! I use mine for fast weekend rides, touring, and a daily 35-mile commute. It's quick and responsive, but also incredibly comfortable. it doesn't come with a good climbing gear, but that's easily remedied by installing a 11-28 cassette, which fits fine with the existing derailleur.

    Comments:

I went from a Specialized Allez Sport to this and it is like driving a lamborghini now. Fast and responsive. The only complaint is the seat. The front of the seat has a bump in it which pushes on your Perineum. Once I fix that this will be a bike I am goin to own for years to come. Tyler at bicycle Generation did an awesome job on finding a bike I would like and fitting me for it.
