Salsa Beargrease X01

"Fast" and "fat bike" may seem mutually exclusive until you've ridden Beargrease. Its 27.5 x 4.0" wheel and tire combo offer better rollover than your standard fat bike, and Beargrease's carbon fiber frameset is lightweight yet stiff for excellent power transfer. But, being svelte doesn't mean sacrificing utility—ample cargo-mounting points make this the best fat bike for light-and-speedy adventures. SRAM's X01 Eagle 1 x 12 drivetrain provides fast and light shifting action with a gear range for tackling any trail obstacle.

High-Modulus Carbon Fiber Frame
This material offers improved stiffness, better vibration damping, excellent durability, and weight savings compared to other frame materials.

Beargrease Geometry
440mm chainstays, longer front/center, short stems, and wide bars create room to move and add confidence while maneuvering on tight trails. Standover height is improved, allowing the addition of an X-Small frame size. This geometry results in a fat bike that rides like a trail bike. It is stable, steers well in loose conditions, and still remains nimble and agile despite the massive wheels and tires. A low bottom bracket height is also key, keeping the rider's center of gravity low, and making dabbing, dismounting, and remounting easier.

27.5 x 4.0" Wheel & Tire Size
Beargrease rolls on 27.5 x 3.8" wheels and tires. For groomed snow or dirt, the increase in diameter provides increased rollover, a longer contact patch, and the flotation of a 4.0" tire without added rolling resistance.
