Whether crushing the competition or going for bragging rights, Cannondale's women's SuperSix EVO Ultegra Di2 handles all the power you can give it. This high-performance machine boasts Cannondale's Ballistec carbon frame and fork that work in perfect harmony to raise your riding and racing to the next level. From aerodynamic touches like narrower down and top tubes and slimmer fork blades, to compliance zones that damp vibration and boost speed, to specifically tuned high-strength, high-modulus fibers that enhance strength and stiffness, the EVO is one of the quickest, most-responsive and best-handling bikes on the road. The frame is complemented by Shimano's revolutionary Ultegra Di2 electric-shifting components with a stiff Cannondale Hollowgram crankset, zippy Fulcrum Racing wheels, a spread of Cannondale's own featherweight, podium-ready components, and the custom fit and feel of a women's Fizik Arione Donna seat.
When constructing their carbon frames, Cannondale uses high strength, high impact resins similar to those used in carbon baseball bats. The fibers and resins are put in a lay-up designed to maximize the anisotropic (direction specific) qualities, making for a bike that is light and stiff, and capable of absorbing impact without damaging the structural integrity. Once the frame has passed quality testing, Cannondale adds stiffer, higher-modulus fibers in safe areas to increase stiffness and tune the ride.
Cannondale's SPEED SAVE stays and fork creates a micro suspension system that allows the wheels to track the ground, improving comfort, control, traction and handling. This allows the bike to roll faster, accelerate better and corner harder without affecting pedaling efficiency.
For increased stiffness and improved steering precision, tapered head tubes (left) and forks pair an oversize lower steerer tube (usually 1 1/2-inch, right) with a standard diameter upper steerer tube (usually 1 1/8-inch). This combination sheds weight compared to straight 1 1/2-inch systems, and adds stability and stiffness when compared to straight 1 1/8-inch systems. The result is a bike that tracks better through corners while allowing for the use of standard stems.
BB30 is an oversize bottom bracket standard that boosts stiffness and decreases weight. BB30 bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into compatible frames, meaning there are no heavy external cups to thread in. And, BB30 cranksets feature 30mm-diameter spindles (standard spindles are smaller) for greater pedaling efficiency and increased power transfer.
