Levon (Lev) was born and raised in Massachusetts, a state rich in running tradition, which is where he found a passion for endurance athletics. The excitement to train and research different training methods led him to Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sport Science. In 2010 he completed the Master's program in Exercise Physiology at The College of St. Scholastica. After graduating and working in Cardiac Rehab as an Exercise Specialist, he also started an Assistant Coaching partnership with The College of St. Scholastica Cross Country team for two years. Some of Levon’s research included analyzing VO2 max difference and cycling power output at sea level vs. altitude. He also researched and discussed Tour de France nutrition with former yellow jersey holder and 2003 Tour de France Prologue winner, Bradley McGee of Francaise des Jeux In 2015, Levon started his own coaching business, Premier Training Systems with the mission of helping athletes reach their goals through a healthy and well-balanced approach to exercise. Through his own personal experience with endurance athletics and coaching, he is a very well rounded coach who keeps an open mind to different methods of training. His philosophy is 100% athlete centered. He understands everyone responds differently to training stimuli and believes in adjusting training prescriptions accordingly as the athlete progresses. NOW Mike Bieber's Saturday Winter Training
Arden Hills Saturdays: Jan 12, 19, 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 23, Mar 2 9:15 AM set-up on bike / Wahoo Kickr and warm up 9:30 AM start time I came to triathlon at 19 years old from a competitive running background, thinking that if I could run a marathon, I could swim 400 yards. I did, but it wasn't pretty and ended up with my breakfast being seen by all out on the course! From there I made it my goal to improve and to complete an IRONMAN race. Leading up to that first 140.6 in 2011, I qualified for the Boston Marathon, raced bicycles in road, cross, trail and tri, and continued to work on improving my swim. I have completed IRONMAN Wisconsin twice, and more short & Olympic course tri's than I can count. I have always been convinced that all you need is a willing spirit and a sound training plan to make it to the finish, and that all people are capable of great things! I started coaching high school Cross Country and Track & Field in 2002, and have been coaching ever since in some manner or another. My focus has shifted from high school athletics to Elite and Age Group endurance athletes and helping them reach their individual goals. I look forward to continuing to grow Triathlon and Multi-sport competition in the Twin Cities area and hope to see you out there! -Mike IRONMAN Certified Coach BSE: Physical Education MSE: Curriculum & Instruction
