At a whopping 100mm wide, it can make the most of your fat bike footprint, for the ultimate in flotation over soft or powdery surfaces. At an incredibly light 500 grams per rim, the BFD is also much lighter than competitors’ skinnier aluminum rims. Combined with a tubeless tire setup, it is possible to lose up to two pounds per wheel when switching to Hed BFDs. It's all about being bigger, badder, and fatter - right?! Yes and no. While we absolutely love getting awesomely fat with our Big Deal and B.F.D. wheels - sometimes we like to go on a diet. Sometimes fat bikes don't have clearance for 100mm rims. Sometimes we only want to have one bike and one wheel set for both summer and winter. What could we possibly do to get out of this quagmire? How could we live a slightly-less-fat existence? There's only one answer. We made the N.B.D. - No Big Deal. The No Big Deal is a 65mm-wide carbon rim of semi-fat bliss.
