This handy piece replaces the wheel yoke of your Surly Bill or Ted trailer and inserts into the horizontal tubes on the non-drive side of your Surly Big Dummy cargo bike, thereby making it possible to haul your trailer using your cargo bike. The Robert Axle Project QR Hitch Adapter is a high quality, finely machined hitch adapter for towing single-arm trailers on bikes with 5mm quick release rear axles. Our stainless steel, QR Hitch Adapter helps trailer hitches fit more bikes, easily clearing hooded and interfering dropouts. Easy to install, by simply replacing the QR nut. Our adapter uses a 5mm hex to ensure your hitch and pre-cious cargo are more securely attached than other knurled adapters. The 5mm hex also isolates and protects dropouts from marring and over-tightening of the quick release when installing the hitch.

This adapter spaces out the Steel Hitch allowing bike frames with hooded/tight rear dropouts to have hitch clearance. This adapter is also used in breezer style dropout applications for proper hitch installation.
