The world is in a constant state of change, and the bike industry is no exception to that rule. We've seen many trends come and go over the years, some for the better, some for the worse (we're really happy not to be riding 19mm tires anymore). One thing is for certain, electric bikes are here to stay, and it's something we're very excited about. Electric bikes make our sport and community more accessible, so more people can enjoy the feeling of the wind in your face, the joy of the open road, and hopefully cut down on our reliance on fossil fuel vehicles. Yuba Bikes has taken that last bit to heart in the design of every bike they produce.
Yuba's founder, Ben, grew up on two wheels in Stasbourg, France, and from that point he was hooked. He rode his bike everywhere, and along the way found his calling to help protect the planet and all the people who share it. What better way than to pair his love for bicycles with his love for sustainability than to create a bicycle brand focused on reducing our reliance on our gas guzzling vehicles? Yuba Bikes was born.
There's no better way to explain what this company stands for than to read their mission statement:

Now based in California, Yuba specializes in cargo bikes, both electric and traditional. With several models built to fit different riders and types of cargo, there's a bike in their lineup for everyone.
Meet Zach and his Yuba Supercargo CL
If you haven't met him already, Zach has been a long time salesperson at our Arden Hills shop. You might have heard about him from his tales from the DAM, or even seen him whiz past you at Lebanon Hills mountain bike trail. Now, the newest addition to his stable of bikes is his Yuba Supercargo CL. With 220 pounds of cargo capacity, there's plenty of room for his 2 year and 4 month old kids to hop in for the ride with room to spare.
The Supercargo CL is a Class 1 E-bike that is governed to 20mph.
220 Pounds of cargo capacity is enough for two kids, or in our case one John the mechanic.

The Mundo Electric
Live large on the new Mundo EP8 cargo bike: the “SUV of bicycles” just got a turbo boost. Improving on Yuba's classic Mundo cargo bike design, the Electric Mundo is overbuilt in all the right ways. The new Mundo EP8 sports a chromoly steel frame for added comfort and strength, hydraulic disc brakes for optimal braking power and the Shimano EP8 motor, for added pedal power up to 20 mph.
Yuba's largest, most capable longtail cargo bike will let you and your family go the distance – with less sweat. From morning commutes to weekend picnics, this electrified version of our original cargo bike will push the limits of what you ever thought a bike could do.
The Spicy Curry
The Spicy Curry is a long tail bike built for big loads and wiggly kids. The frame design is unique, in that the rear wheel is smaller than the front. This lowers the center of gravity and makes it easier to handle while riding with kids, adults or gear. It also lowers the stand over height making the Spicy Curry ideal for riders under 6-foot. This bike comes equipped with BOSCH’s latest cargo-specific motor, and a battery that can handle up to 60 miles on a single charge. So you can carry everything, from the kids to the kitchen sink, around town all day long.
The Kombi E5
The Kombi E5 boasts a host of features from Shimano all at a competitive price. It’s powered by Shimano’s lightest E-bike system: the STEPS E5000 mid-drive motor and its 418 Wh battery. Key to riding safety is powerful braking, and the hydraulic disc brakes will inspire confidence in all conditions. What a Kombination!
The heart of this high-tech bike is Yuba’s in-house-designed chromoly steel frame, featuring Yuba’s proven Stay Steady Technology (found on ALL Yuba compact, mid-tail and long-tail bikes), that is stable, sturdy and built to last. The Kombi E5 can handle up to 440 lbs of cargo — personalize your ride with a great range of add-ons for hauling the kids, or gear, or for the daily ride to work – then surprise everyone by parking it vertically to save space!
The Supercargo CL
Designed for active families and small businesses alike, the Supercargo fits nearly every rider thanks to a low step-through frame with an adjustable stem and seatpost. The extra-low front cargo rack, lightweight frame and double-cable steering give you confidence and control, no matter who – or what – you’re carrying around.
Keeping with Yuba's cargo roots, we tacked on a rear rack over the 20-inch rear wheel for extras and one more passenger. They super-charged the Electric Supercargo with a Bosch Cargo Line 250W, 36V Powerpack 500, capable of speeds up to 20 mph. This all adds up to a powerful cargo-hauling machine that steers like butter and turns heads everywhere.
