Clean lines, a sleek aesthetic, and utilitarian functionality is what BMC's Alpenchallenge AC01 is all about. It's road bike fast with a commuter-friendly, heads-up geometry and flat bars. A strong, lightweight, triple-butted aluminum frame helps you cruise over hills and the tapered carbon fork provides a smooth ride and precision control. 700c wheels are light, fast, durable, and wrapped in grippy Continental tires. Meanwhile, an 11-speed internally-geared, belt-driven drivetrain provides easy-to-use, wide-range gearing and very minimal maintenance. Shimano disc brakes ensure impressive stopping power in all conditions, plus the Alpenchallenge accommodates racks and fenders (sold separately) so you can ride regardless of weather. Plus, you get a Fizik saddle and BMC's handlebars, stem, and seatpost for comfort and control.

Internal hub gearing is a gearing system built into the rear wheel hub. It allows you to shift at any time, even when not pedaling, like at a stop sign. Because the majority of parts are housed within the hub, the gearing mechanism is protected from weather and grime, and therefore requires almost no maintenance. Plus, with less external parts than a derailleur system, you’ll get consistently smooth, reliable shifts.
